Veterinary Internship
Allegheny Equine is pleased to provide an internship for a recent veterinary school graduate who is looking to advance their training and gain experience in equine veterinary medicine. With multiple doctors with different specialties and a diverse horse population, our goal is to expose the new graduate to a wide range of experiences that ultimately allows them to gain the skills they need to be an independent and competent equine practitioner. Our Externships
Veterinary Student Externship
Allegheny Equine offers veterinary student externship positions to veterinary students interested in learning about equine practice. Housing is available on a first come first basis with priority being given to 3rd and 4th year students. For more information about this program visit AAEP Avenues.
Veterinary Technician Externship
Allegheny Equine offers externship positions to veterinary technician students. These students have the opportunity to shadow our technicians and veterinarians and learn skills utilized by equine veterinary technicians.
Other Opportunities
Pre-veterinary student shadows
Allegheny Equine is committed to exposing individuals interested in a career in veterinary medicine to equine practice. Ride along with individual veterinarians can be arranged. Shadows must be at least 18 years of age and be able to provide their own transportation to and from the clinic. Please contact our office at least two months prior to when you would like to shadow.
