Mare Reproduction Services
Our mare services include breeding soundness exams, uterine cultures, cytology and biopsies, intrauterine treatments, video endoscopy of the uterus, artificial insemination with fresh, cooled or frozen semen and embryo transfer. At our clinic your mare can be boarded during her breeding cycle and monitored as often as needed, treated when necessary and bred with optimum timing.
Foal Services
At Allegheny Equine, we provide care for your pregnant mare through her pregnancy, whether you are expecting a normal birth from a healthy mare, or if you have concerns about a high-risk foaling experience. We provide intrauterine evaluation if needed, and attended foaling where assistance is given as needed. Our facilities are equipped with large foaling stalls, the Foal Alert System, stall cameras and in-person monitoring.
Foals are monitored closely through their first several days of life to ensure that they are thriving before heading home. We provide foal wellness services such as vaccines, deworming and nutritional recommendations, wolf tooth removal and castrations as needed.
If your foal becomes ill, we can evaluate it on the farm, or the foal can come in for evaluation at the clinic and treatment in our NICU if needed.
